From Canvas to Cloth
Before House of Somarra, there was Sonia Jain; a finance professional who stepped away from spreadsheets to raise her family, and in that quiet space, discovered something unexpected: a gift for making things beautiful.
She began with traditional Indian heritage paintings, filling blank canvases with colour and detail. That same eye; for proportion, for texture, for what makes something feel alive, found its way into fabric. She taught herself to design. And then she launched her own label, solo, while raising two children, out of sheer conviction that she had something real to offer.
Fifteen Years, One Name
For over fifteen years, Sonia ran her label in Delhi — quietly, consistently, without noise. No flashy campaigns. No shortcuts. Just work that spoke for itself, and clients who became close friends.
Those clients have stayed. Some of the women who wore her pieces in Delhi's drawing rooms are now bringing their daughters to the Gurgaon studio. That kind of loyalty is not bought. It is built, stitch by stitch.
In 2026, Sonia made the move to Gurgaon; a deliberate levelling up. A beautiful studio in Sushant Lok 1. A stronger online presence. A new chapter, without leaving anything behind.
Things our clients never forget
We can make anything
Bring us a screenshot, a Pinterest pin, a photo from your mother's wedding. We will recreate it; and often, it comes out better than the reference. This is not a promise we make lightly.
Quality that genuinely lasts
Our clients wear the same pieces for years and say the shine has not dimmed, the fabric has not sagged, the richness is intact even after multiple washes. We only work with materials we would wear ourselves.
Delivered on time. Always.
Custom couture in 7 to 10 days. We know you have a wedding to dress for, a date on the calendar that does not move. Neither do we. Your garment will be ready when we said it would be.
Made to be worn

The staff at House of Somarra has worked with Sonia since the very beginning, over fifteen years of developing the kind of chemistry and understanding that cannot be taught.
A Space designed with intention
Sonia designed the Gurgaon studio from scratch. Every detail, the warm terracotta walls, the brass rails, the quality of light, was chosen to feel like a home, not a store.
When you walk in, you are welcomed as part of the family. That has always been the way here. It always will be.
Every garment is different than the last
Sonia does not repeat herself. Each piece she designs is new, a different silhouette, a different conversation between fabric and light. What stays constant is the standard: only the finest materials, only construction that holds.
Hand embroidery, Banarasi brocade, tissue, organza, tie and dye, these are not trends we follow. They are languages we speak fluently, and have for a very long time.
